The Salhouse Lodge is a seven-bedroom hotel, bar and restaurant and has been sold via licensed property specialists Sidney Phillips.
The Salhouse Lodge is situated in the conservation area and village of Salhouse, located within the Norfolk Broads. The village lies south of the River Bure and Salhouse Broad, approximately 6 miles northeast of the county capital Norwich, 16 miles northwest of the seaside resort of Great Yarmouth and 7 miles northwest of the market town of Acle.
The property dates back to around 1900 and occupies a two-storey detached brick building under a slate tiled roof. The four-acre plot benefits from a spacious car park, campsite, two double-bedroom owners' bungalow and stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Zaine Lamont, Regional Valuations Manager for the Eastern Counties, handled the sale and commented, “The Salhouse Lodge is a terrific example that showcases licensed properties priced at £1 million plus can still achieve interest. Despite the difficulties in attaining commercial finance within today’s economic climate, buyers can still be found.”
The freehold interest of the Salhouse Lodge was purchased by Colchester Inns, who own several well-respected hospitality venues within the county of Norfolk.
Sidney Phillips sold the Salhouse Lodge off a freehold asking price of £1.25 million.
