The Waggon & Horses, a wet-led community public house pub situated in the village of Twyford in Berkshire, has been sold through specialist business property adviser, Sidney Phillips.
The Waggon & Horses is a large Grade II Listed building boasting a prominent position along the A303 arterial road that runs through the heart of the village. The property is understood to date back to the 17th century and retains many features including exposed timbers, flagstone flooring and inglenook fireplace with an oak bressumer.
Robert Cockayne, Regional Valuations Manager for the London & South East handled the sale and commented, “The sale of the Waggon & Horses is a prime example of the return in popularity for wet-led businesses in the South East licensed property market. We are seeing a real resurgence in the demand for ‘proper pubs’.”
The business has been sold to a first-time operator, who is seeking to retain the community ethos, and drive business forward with a small food offering.
Sidney Phillips sold the Waggon & Horses off a leasehold asking price of £65,000.
