The Fox & Grapes, a traditional freehouse situated in the village of Lifton in Kent Devon, has been let through licensed property specialist Sidney Phillips.
The Fox & Grapes occupies a prominent roadside position in Lifton, a vibrant village with a well known farm shop, a number of small businesses and the Ambrosia rice pudding and custard factory which is a near neighbour of the Fox & Grapes.
The Fox & Grapes had been under the ownership of our client’s family for five generations and has evolved from originating as a row of small cottages to become a Coaching Inn with the cobbled floored stables still evident. The premises also used to incorporate a dairy. In 1937, the Coronation Hall was added and at that time had the first sprung dance floor in the south west outside Bristol. The Coronation Hall is now an excellent function room and Sunday carvery facility, which is frequently used alongside the more traditional bar and restaurant areas.
