The Royal Oak, a closed pub situated in the village of Withypool in Somerset, has been let by licensed property specialist, Sidney Phillips.
The charming 17th Century Inn boasts a central position within Withypool, a tourist attraction in close proximity to many beauty spots such as the National Trust village of Dunster over which towers Dunster Castle. A nearby spectacular Devon and Somerset coastline forms the northern edge of Exmoor National Park.
The property benefits from a lounge bar, public bar and dining room, with seating for 30. Furthermore in addition to a two bedroom owners accommodation, the property houses 8 period letting bedrooms.
The incoming lessee has undertaken an impressive improvement programme to re-launch the Royal Oak and capitalise on the 2019 summer season. The new operator has been warmly received by the village and the many visitors that visit the area. Richard Jones of the South West office of Sidney Phillips reported “here was interest from many experienced operators however the final purchaser was the ideal candidate, brimming with enthusiasm and having great local knowledge.”
The Royal Oak was let on behalf of Wellington Pub Company PLC on a new free-of-tie lease agreement for a term of 20 years.
