During times of uncertainty, it is great to see the market is still healthy, with the recent sales of the White Horse in Bradford on Tone, Farmers Arms in West Hatch, White Horse in Stogumber and Bell Inn in Buckland Dinham conducted by our Wessex office.
The White Horse in Bradford on Tone has been run for several years as a popular village freehouse, with the new operators are looking to continue this style of trade, keeping the White Horse as the hub of the community. We understand that since taking over the White Horse, the new occupiers have found great support from the locals.
Over the last decade the Farmers Arms in West Hatch has been under the same ownership, with continuous improvements being made during their tenure. It is now a well-respected country freehouse, known for its high-quality letting rooms. The freehold has been sold to a property investor looking to keep the Farmers Arms as a public house. During the transaction Sidney Phillips were also able to assist the new landlord in finding an enthusiastic new tenant looking to continue the Farmers Arms as a traditional country freehouse.
The White Horse in Stogumber has historically been let out to a third party by the freeholder. Since the previous lessee vacated the premises, the freeholder has thoroughly renovated the property and positioned the White Horse to be the hub of the local community. The premises has now been re-let by Sidney Phillips to an experienced couple, who are looking to capitalise on the recent improvements and expand trade to the best of their ability.
Finally, the Bell Inn in Buckland Dinham is a Grade II listed village freehouse has been let by Sidney Phillips to a couple who are well skilled in the industry. The new operators have extensive plans for the public house, also exploring glamping options in the paddock beyond the car park.
