It has been announced that pub operators will be able to access Government grants of up to £18,000 to help ensure their survival until Covid-19 restrictions are eased, with outdoor services allowed from 12 April and indoor service from 17 May at the earliest.
The new comes ahead of Chancellor Rishi Sunak’s Budget due on Wednesday 3rd March 2021, where it is understood he will be announcing plans to jumpstart the economy and save employment.
Grant amounts will most likely be dependant on the premises’ Rateable Value:
This comes in addition to a further £425m sum added to the Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG), a fund designed to help businesses not eligible for grants.
At present it is unclear as to how the additional grants are to be distributed however previous grants have been accessible via local authorities, which is expected to continue.
