High turnover pub in Surrey sold

Sidney Phillips have announced the sale of the Harrow in Chaldon, a high turnover food-led venue in Surrey to experienced operators.

The Harrow is situated in the picturesque village of Chaldon, in the Tandridge District of Surrey. Situated on the outskirts of the highly desirable commuter town of Caterham, the village sits high on the North Downs. The area is well known for its walking trails and cycling routes as well as being the home of the Surrey National Golf Club. Caterham houses all necessary amenities including private and state schooling, hospitals and a busy town centre lined with national and independent retailers. The area is considered to be prime commuter belt due to its ease of access and commutability into Central London.

The Harrow occupies a charming character public house understood to date back to the 16th Century. This two-storey property has undergone an extensive refurbishment program, retains much of its original features and charm, yet despite its age, is not a listed building.

It boasts a well-presented bar and restaurant with seating for 55, large trade garden with covered seating for 100 to 150 people as well as a three bedroom accommodation.

The sellers had owned and operated the leasehold interest of the Harrow for 16 years, building a highly successful food-led business which enjoys strong support and repeat customer from the wider local community.

The lease has now been sold to an experienced couple who bring a wealth of experienced in the kitchen, front of house and back of house to the Harrow, to whom we wish them the best of luck with their new venture.

The leasehold interest was sold off an asking price of £120,000.
