Historic Powys pub sold by Sidney Phillips

Historic Powys pub sold by Sidney Phillips

The Red Lion, a historic 12th Century public house in Powys, has been sold through pub agent Sidney Phillips.

These reputedly 12th Century character Grade ll listed premises stand in a slightly elevated position close to the site of St Afans Tomb, a 2,300 year old tree and a murderer’s grave. The Inn is oozing in character and is the like of which that rarely, if ever, becomes available.

Llanafan Fawr is a small local community and the premises are situated right in the centre immediately opposite the Church, facing the B4358 some four miles from Newbridge on Wye, Beulah and Cilmery. LLanafan Fawr is in the centre of glorious rolling pastureland in some of the most attractive border countryside. This is one of few free houses in the area and attracts not only a high volume of local, but also a considerable element of passing and destination trade.

The property is a former Welsh farmhouse situated immediately adjacent to a large set of farm buildings and benefits from a characterful main bar, dining room, two bedroom owner’s accommodation, holiday cottage and three outside trade spaces.

The freehold interest of the Red Lion has been sold off an asking price of £195,000.
