Popular community pub in Kent for sale

The Chequers in Crockenhill, a popular community pub close to Swanley has been brought to market by leisure and hospitality specialist Sidney Phillips.

Crockenhill is a charming village situated on the Kent boarder with Greater London, close to attractions such as the London Golf Club, Brands Hatch Race Circuit and Lullingstone Country Park. The village is easily accessed via the nearby M20/A20 and M25 motorways, a short drive from Swanley and Auckington where all major amenities including schools, hospitals and shopping are within easy reach.

The Chequers is a notable corner plot public house situated in the very heart of the village. It has been well maintained in recent years and is presented to a high standard throughout, comprising a bar and dining area with seating for 56, a lawned trade garden, car park and sizeable four bedroom accommodation.

Regional Valuations Manager, Robert Cockayne, who is handling the sale commented: “The current owners purchased the Chequers through Sidney Phillips in 2016 and have taken a tired village pub and transformed it into a business popular with the local residents as well as those living in surrounding area. The pub comes highly recommended by CAMRA and holds events include live music, burger nights, pétanque league and a daily OAP menu.”

The business is family run and proves popular with locals holding events such as wakes and weddings. There is scope to increase trade with a focus on marketing and growing the business’ social media presence”.

The leasehold interest in the Labouring Man is available off an asking price of £95,000.
