Pub close to the Hadrian's Wall Path sold

Leisure and hospitality specialist Sidney Phillips has sold the Stag Inn in the Cumbrian village of Crosby-on-Eden, off an asking price of £260,000.

The Stag Inn is the focal point of the village, which is the combined name for two small villages, High Crosby and Low Crosby. The line of Hadrian's Wall passes a mile or so to the north, and the Hadrian's Wall Path follows the Stanegate through the villages, which draws strong numbers of walkers to the area throughout the year.

The premises is traditional in its appearance, constructed of stone under a slate roof, and boasts a bar, restaurant, and separate semi-detached cottage.

The property has been sold to investors, well-known to Sidney Phillips who are retaining the property for public house use, with the aim to let it on a new free-of-tie lease agreement.
