The Stables Inn is a traditional wet sales only free house located in the centre of the former market town of Craven Arms, known as the Gateway to the Marches for its location within the rural county of Shropshire and close to the Shropshire Hills in an area of outstanding natural beauty which includes the famous Long Mynd. It enjoys good communication links being set astride the main A49 between Shrewsbury and Ludlow and on the main Cardiff to Crewe railway line. Craven Arms provides a number of services to the surrounding area and is home to a number of different retail outlets.
The Stables Inn was developed by the sellers in 1988 from a fish and chip shop and bookmakers and has since traded successfully since as a community pub. The property has a lounge bar, three bedroom accommodation, car park, beer garden and catering kitchen, which although never operated, offers scope for new operator to introduce a food offering.
The Stables Inn has been sold at auction, conducted on the premises by Sidney Phillips, to a local buyer off a Guide Price of £170,000.
