Sidney Phillips sells prominent Lincolnshire pub

Specialist leisure and hospitality agent Sidney Phillips has completed on the freehold sale of the Plough, Sturton by Stow.

The Plough benefits from being the only pub within the village and attracts trade from the surrounding residential areas. The business hosts a variety of entertainment events which include live music, bingo and quiz nights which draw in visitors from neighbouring villages.

The area benefits from a variety of notable landmarks and amenities such as the Torksey Lincoln Golf Club, the historical 270 acre Lincolnshire Showground (which hosts the annual Lincolnshire show that attracts an average attendance of 60,000 visitors per year) and the newly constructed Lincoln City FC Heath Lane training ground.

The Plough, which dates back to circa 1881, occupies a two-storey detached property benefitting from being situated in a prominent position within the centre of the village opposite the general store on the A1500 Tillbridge Road.

Zaine Lamont, Regional Valuations Manager for the Eastern Counties handled the sale and comments, “I am extremely pleased to complete on yet another public house sale and to see a further example of just how buoyant the freehold market currently is in Lincolnshire. Being the only pub in the village of Sturton by Stow, the Plough represents a wonderful opportunity and I am sure it is one that the new and enthusiastic ownership couple will take full advantage of”.

Sidney Phillips sold The Plough off a freehold asking price of £225,000.
