Leisure and hospitality specialist Sidney Phillips has successfully completed on the sale of the Brass Monkey in Hastings, one of the most significant urban areas on the East Sussex/Kent coast.
The Brass Monkey (also known as The Brass) is a substantial four-storey mid-terraced property, commanding a central position along Havelock Road. It is a short walk from the vibrant seafront (with amusements, bars, restaurants and attractions), the historic old town and a bustling modern town centre (housing a large number of national retailers and eateries).
This expansive property boasts an open plan bar and music venue (with capacity for 300), as well as 18 rooms on upper floors, understood to once have been hotel rooms.
The Brass Monkey has for many years been operated a renowned live music venue, but closed its doors in January 2024 due to a decline in the live music scene since the Covid-19 Pandemic. The property has been purchased by experienced property investors for alternative use.
The property was sold off an asking price of £450,000.
