Wet led Nottingham pub sold

Leisure and hospitality specialists Sidney Phillips have announced the completion of the sale of Poets Corner, a busy wet led sports venue and community public house located in the NG2 area of Nottingham.

Poets Corner occupies a purpose-built public house benefiting from an enviable position in the centre of the Bridgeway Centre in the city of Nottingham. The property benefits from being the only privately owned premises within the complex, surrounded by a wide range of retailers including a medical practice and pharmacy, Co-Op food store, opticians and hairdressers. Poets Corner can be found in the southeast of the city only a short distance away from both Notts County and Nottingham Forest football clubs.

Poets Corner operates as an established wet led sports venue pub benefiting from loyal trade from the surrounding residential areas, as well football fans from across the city who flock to the business on match days. The venue showcases live sports regularly via Sky TV and holds a number of different entertainment events such as disco’s, karaoke and live bands.

Mr Sanderson the seller of Poets Corner commented; “I would like to thank Zaine and all the team at Sidney Phillips. After having the property on the market previously with a different agent we were left disenchanted in the hopes of finding a purchaser. Sidney Phillips exceeded our expectations in terms of service, and we would wholeheartedly recommend them to other publicans who are considering selling their property. Finally after running the business for nearly 16 years we would like to wish the new operators all the best for the future. They inherit a superb group of locals who I am sure will continue to support Poets Corner over the coming years”.

Zaine Lamont, Regional Valuations Manager for the Eastern Counties handled the sale and comments, “Congratulations to Glen on all he has achieved at Poets Corner, I wish him all the best for the future, I have no doubt the business will be well looked after in the hands of the new ownership, who will continue to run Poets Corner as a wet led sports venue pub”.

Sidney Phillips sold Poets Corner off a freehold asking price of £270,000.
