Worcester pub prime for food offering sold

The Vine Bar & Grill, a popular drinking establishment situated on busy Ombersley Road in the Cathedral City of Worcester has been sold by licensed property specialist, Sidney Phillips.

Worcester, with a population in excess of 100,000 sits on the banks of the River Severn and has a fine history with heritage in porcelain and being pinnacle in the English Civil War. Today it offers a thriving commercial centre for the surrounding area having a strong economy with the advantage of being close to the nearby centres of Birmingham and Gloucester.

The Vine was purchased by our clients in 2013 and since then has undergone a complete redevelopment and refurbishment scheme and is now presented in very good order throughout. The property offers 80 covers across two trade spaces, alongside a two-tiered decked garden area for 40, with a further 40 on a second decked area. The Vine Bar & Grill boasts a studio flat with large living room, double bedroom and en suite bathroom, as well as a four bedroom flat with two en suites, a kitchen and a bathroom.

Since opening after the refurbishment they have only offered wet sales to their customers and the business regularly achieves gross sales of £6,000 per week.

Ceiron Griffiths of Sidney Phillips’ Midlands Office handled the sale and commented: “There is huge scope to introduce a comprehensive catering offering which we understand is in high demand by the current customer base, a motion that will be put in place by the new operators. This would undoubtedly help to increase the reputation of the business which is already growing steadily.”

Sidney Phillips brokered the creation of a new free-of-tie lease agreement off an asking price of £65,000.
